Hey everyone! I figured I'd kick off this section with something I haven't seen before; A comparison post between the legit Kaito nendoroid plush and one of the many fakes floating around. So let's get started!
Here's my Kai-Kai with his bootleg brother.
The real Kaito is on the left, the bootleg on the right.
I actually bought the bootleg first as a placeholder until I could get a real one. I ended up getting one much faster than I expected to. The real one is currently listed(NOT SELLING FOR) for $130-$ 300!
RIDICULOUS.
Don't get me wrong, I adore my Kaito, but those are some of the most ridiculous scalper prices I've seen in a long time. The price jumped right when Project Diva F 2nd was released, further proving that point.
If you have the patience, the real thing sells for as low as $45. I got mine for $40 on amazon.jp.
The bootleg was bought for $11 on Amazon.
So let's take a look at some of the major differences:
The faces! The bootleg is much less round and wide, which makes the eyes look closer together. The skin is also much darker. The real one is more of a beige, and the fake is more of a peach.

You can see here that the pants are also a different color. The fake's is a lighter brown. Though it's not pictured here, the arrows on the pants are different as well. The real one's have a nice golden yellow. The fake's is just a plain bright yellow.
There's also another difference with the pants - The real one's are removable, the fake's are stitched on.
("How do I know that?" You might be asking yourself. Not for any gross kinky reasons that the internet may come up with, but because I sew. I might make Kaito some custom clothes once his jacket finally gets all ragged and ugly from wear. Which is one downside to this plush. The coat is not made to last. It's already splitting in some places.)

Take a look here at the fake's jacket:
It's also a lighter color than the real thing and has a white line on the bottom.
The jackets between the two are mostly the same material. They're a vinyl feeling type of fabric. I do think the real one's feels a little thicker. Still thin, but thicker than this one's.

(Gotta use the bootleg to prop the real Kaito up!)
And now for the BIGGEST difference that sets these two apart:
THE REAL ONE POSES, THE BOOTLEG DOESN'T!
I've seen some bootleggers actually trying to claim that their fakes are a different version of Gift's plush or something, but the bottom line is that they're not.
If your Kaito doesn't have the ability to pose his headset, arms, legs, and scarf, it's a fake. No "unposeable version" exists.
I haven't seen one myself, but I have heard that some of the fakes do have wire in their scarves. But they never do in the limbs.
In conclusion though, I'd highly recommend the real one over the fake. The fake will not last you a long time if you plan on hugging it or traveling with it. The stitching is bad is comparison, the coat is too thin, and it just feels like it'll fall apart if you squeeze it too hard. It also is limited on fun because it can't pose.
The real Kaito isn't perfect either. His hair gets folds in it too easily Giving him "bedhead" in the morning that I constantly have to straighten out(because I sleep hugging him and I guess I move around or something)
His coat is also not too durable. It's already splitting up the middle. To his credit though, my Kaito is "used" and came to me with no tag. So therefore, I have no idea whether or not he is the 2008 release or the 2011. Either way, he is a few years old already
Well, that's it for now! Hope you liked this and look forward to the next review!
